Review 5: Pakej Perkahwinan Johor

Ehem...masa yang dinanti nanti *bajet* haha. Ok. Review pakej pertunangan. Ramai yang bertanya pasal pelamin ni. Sweet n not overly done. Just nice untuk engagement or nikah. Ok. I admit i'm having hard times hunting for a good vendor. Eh bukan good, i mean yang compatible. Y?

1. Kebanyakan wedding vendor kat johor or jb mmg x berapa update website. I am heavily relied on internet sbb my engagement kinda short notice

2. Oleh sbb no 1, makanya pegi la ke pameran..tapi susah nak cari berkenan..yg fresh, modern, simple n affordable.

3. I dont have any experience kat jb...dat makes things worst..n i hv trust issues...xmain book je. Kena tgk betul2

So masa wedding exhibition tu memang spend masa yang lama n xbook pun haha. Balik, gi tengok semua flyers, tgk website dia n melawat..

Jumpa lian at her studio..terus jatuh chenta. This is it. Dia tawu photobooth, dia tawu candy buffet, guest book, design fresh n dia sebaya je.

Borak2 macam ada chemistry *giteww*

Okok. Cut story short, i discussed with her dgn sketch. Good! Dia terima my proposal dgn her input. I asked her for branch with flowers n ada kerusi (sebab both of my mom n FMIL ada problem dengan lutut, so memang consider them) Idea pelamin tu datang masa jem odw balik ke rumah kat Bangi hahaa. Inspired by pokok2 sakura tepi jalan :P

Cuma bab follow up dia kureng ckit. Haha. Sorry dear. Tp datz not my prob coz my day to day work mmg keje "kejar" orang.. N alhamdulillah i love my pelamin to bits. Dont judge with the pics, sbb pelamin tu kat ruang sempit...so memang xnmpk full n ade dinding... Tp seriusly mmg sama mcm my sketch. I showed to my frens n family my sketch n they were impressed haha (sbb sama, bukan sbb sketch tu lawa)

OK..enjoy the pics :D

I took package with her..include photog, pelamin, makeup n handbouquet. Tapi malangnya handbouquet babybreath impian saya xkesampaian. Tp xkesah sgt, coz i am satisfied with her overall work. Lian jenis yg sgt kreatif, open dgn apa2 suggestions. So sape2 yang memang rajin research, nak unique, vibrant, hire la dia. Coz i have approached few other vendors...selalunya diorang akan ternganga...hahahaa

N at one time i impressed with her sbb i keep on asking y y n y esp on the price. Sori taw sbb my nature of work mmg carik salah org hahaha. Tp dia sabar n PR bagus..maybe sbb amek law degree kot :-)

Recommended: yes :-) insyaAllah i will take her for my wedding

Review 4: cupcake n mini cakes

Alhamdulillah.. Ni pun puas hati sangat2 dengan kak leen dari Loyang Kuih hehe.

Haaaa kepada sesiapa di johor bahru yang nak order apa2 jenis cakes, sila tempah dgn dia k, highly recommended!

Memang selalu tempah dgn dia. Hasil tgn dia memang best n x takot beli cakes dgn dia sbb icing dia mmg x muak.

Most importantly kita tawu dia berniaga dgn ikhlas.. Friendly n x berkira.

Call kak leen dgn otak yang masih tak tetap. Kira2 3 minggu b4 majlis. Alhamdulillah dia masih terima even sgt bz masa tu.

Mintak 100 cupcakes untuk doorgift, tiramisu (baru nak try), n mini cakes untuk hantaran. Kaler bertukar2 n jap nak dome jap xde dome. Haha. Tapi kak leen sabar melayan karenah. Yang best tu siap hantar ke rumah. N mini cakes tu sgt comel n masuk dgn hantaran lain :-)

Tiramisu? Omg the best ever! Tak tipu. Kebetulan ada bapak sedara pny birthday mlm tu, then nyalakan lilin n makan ramai2. Semua puji mmg sedap.

Review 2: Baju Tunang

Fuhhh ramai yang tanya taw pasal baju nih hehe

Baju ni bukan pakai designer pun. Guna tailor.

Highly recommended!
My fren yg rekemen her. Dia pun macam sebaya i gak but very talented.

Design from yours truly. Mmg dalam kepala dah tawu nak macam mana.

Masa kecik dulu pernah berangan taw nak jd fashion designer (tak tipu!). Anyway sebab i dah design baju sendiri, makanya tak perlula hantar ke designer. Cuma kena sketch, bagi gambar contoh and terang betul2. Sebab guna tailor kan, so pastikan kita bg diorg clear instruction :-) dan design yg i buat sgt safe. Read: kalo gemuk pun org tak perasan haha. Tapi on dat day kene pin kat belakng sbb longgar sikit. Tu pun aritu da alter sbb longgar (nk gtaw da kurus kot) haha

Chiffon silk n satin silk 4m. Beli kat jakel. Menangis bila keluar duit haha.

So basically my dress ni empire dress dgn kain yg sgt flowy. Mmg suruh umie lipat cara kipas kat bhgian tepi.

Bila siap, hantar dress utk beading kat zaza beadmeplease. Memang totally recommended. Cepat and sgt professional. Bagi requirement sikit je n she used her magic hand to make plain dress to WOW! :D
Memang baju i sgt simple..cantik for me n not overly done. Mmg sengaja x pakai lace utk baju utk x nmpak keterlaluan.

Im not too fancy on heavy bead or full lace. N xsuka baju kurung haha. So mmg decide pakai dress.

Dress ni simple so boleh pakai again n again. Material pun sangat sejuk!
Alhamdulillah kalo compare bagi kat designer, i save lebih kurang rm400 - 500. Memang byk stage n effort. Tp it worths the money :-)
PS: Kaler combo ni masih baru n fresh. Sume puji sbb sgt fresh n boleh jd trend. So siapa2 size M - XL or free size boleh sewa full set dgn tudung n veil. Just email me at orkid88@gmail.com. N mmg snang fit dgn sume body type coz boleh alter kat bust line :-)

Review 1: veil vispera

This is the very very best thing. Seriusly i love my tudung n veil to bits. Rasa nak tido dgn veil tu haha.

I got a lot of questions regarding tis veil. so here it is! my review hehe

Pencarian tudung sangatla memeningkan kepala. Sebab saya ni jenis cerewet dgn tudung n mmg nak pastikan tudung tu tip top.

Haha. Survey2 mmg kene decide yang i have to make a new ones. Sbb kaler saya ni tak pernah dibuat orang. Kalo ada pun its either pink je or yellow je.

So i email n text puan hawa pemilik vispera.

Alhamdulillah dia masih ada slot. Sbb dia ni mcm goreng pisang panas. Brides mmg suka tempah dgn dia.

Jumpa dia di jusco ampang. Try tudung kat toilet situ untuk test ok ke x dgn muka. Decide terus nak amek yg ala2 arab. I dont fancy tudung ada awning.

Bagi sampel kain, diskas mcm mane nak, then done. She is very nice person. N very organized n very talented. I selalu communicate dgn email psl my baju progress. Sbb nak pastikan she got the idea n tudung n veil nmpk matching. Sbb masa book tu, my dress tak siap lagi.

Then few weeks later dia call. I cakap la nak yg meriah, full border sbb dress simple. Then dia pun cari material.

Tanya harga...fuhhhhh telan air liur. Haaha. Okok call her balik cakap takpela, i want just a simple beading..kat atas kepala n bwh je. Dia cakap harap2 dpt lace yg cantik n murah.

Then few days later she called, n said dia dapat lace yg cantik n sgt sesuai dgn my dress. Then dia cakap dia x sampai ati nak buat simple je haha. Sbb kaler tu dia tak pernah buat n sgt cantik. So diskas, dgn some additional charge, we both agreed. She is tooooo nice sbb mase nak amek i was very very busy n she came down to passs the tudung n veil herself. Naik lrt n ktm ok. Dari ampang ke bangi. Adui sgt sgt sgt tharu. Sbb dia sgt excited dgn veilntu n she said tu design baru utk next year. Terharu!

I tried the full set of my dress with my bff, tirah. Both of use were screaming sbb the veil is tooo beautiful (besela girls kan terlebey excited haha)

So sape2 nak buat tudung n veil sy sgt sgt rekemen her. Mmg x rugi spend a lil more money..

Link to her facebook and website.

PS: Siapa yang berminat nak sewa veil n tudung or separately can email me ya at orkid88@gmail.com

Drama hehe

Macam2 drama before majlis.. N looking forward for more. Kena sabar n pandai ketawa. Hehe

Drama babak 1

Call vendor pelamin xdapat2...ini bukan lawak ok. Rasa darah naik kepala.

Dulu janji datang pasang hari khamis... Pasrah...

Drama babak 2

Makanan bukan dari katering. Kira macam partly buat sendiri. Mula2 mama upah 8 orang anak murid untuk tolong hidang n basuh pinggan. Hari ni diorang call yang sume cant make it. Ok. Nanti jangan ketawa if saya basuh pinggan dengan dress ye

Call B2B Peah...hanya yang da melalui je yang paham kot. Lama gak bergayut n bergelak ketawa dgn dia haha.

I know more dramas coming up...tapi again, kena pandai redha n redah :-)

Doakan semuanya berjalan lancar ye. Ameen :-)

Persiapan Penting

Hari ni tak nak cakap pasal preparation untuk tunang. Alhamdulillah semua dah siap.

Actually, jika nak tunggu bersedia ke tak sampai tua pun x akan bersedia, jad ikatanpertunangan in 2 weeks time ni jadi "a good force" untuk bersedi jadi a better lady and Muslim. InsyaAllah. Mohon doanya ya :)

Anyway, sila tengok video ni. Sangat inspiring untuk semua, tak kisah yang tgh plan nak kawen ke, single ke, laki or perempuan :)

Product Review: Herbal Aloe Concentrate

Siapa yang ada masalah gastrik?

Atau sembelit?

or masalah angin2..

or just nak muka glowy2? Or kurangkan scar?

Seriusly dah guna produk ni memang fall in love. My true experience:

1. Rasa perut ni dah cleanse and kulit more hydrated. Hydrated, bukan oily. Sbb my skin mmg a bit dry

2. dulu memang serius xboleh makan lambat, pening dan terus muntah2.

3. After a reli big feast (eg. buffet all u can eat), nx morning sure semua keluar. Rasa ringan sangat

4. After having big meal, minum ni rasa best sgt. Macam eno effect

5. For some reasons, if sakit tekak or rasa badan panas (petanda awal nak demam), i will take this. Memang sangat kurang.

Ramai yang selalu mengadu masalah angin, gastrik, masalah buang air...so apa kata try dis product? Sebab if keep complaining tapi tak try something to work on it, sampai bila x baik kan?

I have few customers yang ambek aloe sahaja dan alhamdulillah gastrik mmg ok. True story.

Brazillian Wax U vollssss

Hi!

I am still remember that one of my "To Do List Before Married" is to try Brazillian Wax.

Woaahhhh. haahha. I heard it is sooo painful but it is soo worth it.

I did some research and found out that Strip offers the best Brazillian Wax service.

But...the price is quite too high..

And...I am an addict for any deals website (like Groupon, Mydeal, Milkadeal). I was praying (no joking!) that Strip will offer their service in one of this website! Coz I dont think spending RM100++ for only to "tidy up" your under there is acceptable haahha.

You can get the deal here: http://www.groupon.my/deals/klang-valley-kuala-lumpur/strip/715916248

Then I found this!!! I was the happiest girl in the world :)

So come whoever wants to take up the challenge with me hehehe.

Working Tips!

Hi,

Below article was forwarded from my colleague. It is really inspiring and helpful. So thought of sharing to you too :) It is really long but really worth it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Breaking the glass ceiling

Manohari Abeyesekera is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA). She holds an MBA from the University of Colombo, winning three gold medals during her course. She also possesses a first class honours degree in biological science from the University of Colombo.

Manohari is employed at Hayleys PLC as manager for strategic business development. She was adjudged as the CIMA young star silver medal winner at the maiden CIMA Janashakthi pinnacle awards programme, held in 2004.

I’ve often wondered why there is little representation of women on the boards of most corporate organizations. Formal monthly board meetings are generally a gathering of men, with a woman only occasionally attending: a recent CIMA survey reveals that CIMA’s female members are six times less likely than its male members to be in senior roles such as CEOs or CFOs.
Is the invisible glass ceiling impregnable?

The glass ceiling
The term ‘glass ceiling’ was originally coined in an article written by Carol Hymowitz and Timothy Schellhardt on the 24 March 1986 edition of the Wall Street Journal. The piece referred to the invisible barriers that impede the career advancement of women in the American workforce.

Some of the questions that come to mind are:

why do salary surveys reveal that women are paid less than their male counterparts?
why do women fall back in the corporate ladder after outperforming male peers at university?
do women concentrate too much on working hard, and insufficiently on networking?

The issues for women
The traditional woman preferred to stay at home and look after the family. However, the present economic environment, coupled with expectations of higher living standards, has resulted in an increasing number of women seeking jobs to earn a living.

Women in general have two main issues:

1. Balancing work and family

2. Being recognized at work in a managerial capacity in a male dominated industry

The dual role of career woman and wife and mother means juggling two to three roles in a day. McKinsey’s report on ‘Women Matter’, highlights this as the ‘double burden syndrome’.
Today’s careers are not restricted to nine to five. Occasionally, you’re required to attend meetings, seminars and cocktails well past traditional work hours. Guilt creeps in when you have to leave home for a long time. We wonder - is this worth it? Do we miss seeing our children growing up?

Neither are we satisfied just being housewives. The years spent on higher education are not put to full use. One cannot afford to take a career break, as there may not be suitable job opportunities when you want to want to rejoin.
Knowledge also changes rapidly. There is a risk of becoming obsolete if you take a career break.
How should we strike a balance between work and family?Good time management is essential, and family support is a bonus. Organizing the day and giving priority to the most important tasks is a must. Devote ‘quality time‘ to your family.

The Asian woman is fortunate to have the immediate family - parents and in laws - to support her in looking after the kids while she is at work.

How can you stand out from the crowd in the workplace?Working hard and putting
in long hours is not the only way to advance your career. Build a good
reputation in your company, take up challenging assignments, and pursue higher
education to become a rising star.
Showing your skills set
In today’s
context, soft skills (for example good PR and communication skills) are becoming
more and more important than paper qualifications. Women need to portray an
image of confidence to their superiors and colleagues.
Leadership skills
needs to be developed. Ensure you have a vision with a clear strategy, the
ability to inspire and lead your team, and an awareness of when to show empathy.
You need not be a ‘yes’ person to your seniors, but disagreement needs to be
conveyed in a polite manner. Always uphold your integrity and values.
Think
twice before saying ‘no’ to an opportunity given by your bosses, even if it is
outside your comfort zone. In order to succeed, you sometimes need to take
calculated risks.
Networking is crucial in today’s business world. Devote
time to building networks with your fellow colleagues in your profession.
Understanding of different cultures, particularly when dealing with foreign
business partners, is also highly important.

The CIMA centre of excellence at the University of Bath school of management recently summarized the strategies for career development in business as below:

Strategies for career development

The glass ceiling can be broken, so be assertive and confident of your skills. Develop the ability to speak out in meetings. Be passionate of your career goals, with a role model or mentor to guide you.

It is critical to be a ‘team player’. Most finance professionals are at loggerheads with marketers in pruning their sales and advertising budgets. Therefore, you need to look at the big picture and what it takes to increase revenue, rather than just concentrating on cost cutting.
Remaining solely in finance can also be a hindrance; explore the possibility of switching to general management or marketing in order to help you reach the top.

A good mix
McKinsey research has shown that companies with 30% or more representation at board or senior management level produce the best financial results. A combination of men and women helps ensure better decision making, as women bring in a different dimension when seeking solutions for complex business problems.

'Boards with 30% or more female representation produce the best results’
Many corporate videos are becoming more emotive, revealing how their products and services are touching human lives. Gone are the days where the corporate videos were product centric. Significantly, women are the driving force behind 70% of purchasing decisions, even in traditional 'male' product areas such as cars: for example, research has shown that women influence 60% of new car purchases in Japan.

Naturally, not all women may want to reach the top (which is actually quite a lonely spot); they may opt for middle management careers. It is however clear women should be better represented in decision making roles in the corporate arena. Let us hope that more aspiring women are able to take up leadership roles in the business world in the future, finding the ability to strike the right balance between family and work.
